While using the highest standards in lead acid battery recycling, KC Recycling’s efficient processes enables us to offer large quantities of quality recycled commodities at low cost points, which in turn allows our customers to give these recycled commodities new life by using them to produce products that improve our lives.
Lead Acid Battery Recycling
Lead Acid Batteries, most often found in car batteries, contain large amounts of lead, sulfuric acid, and plastics. If not properly disposed and recycled, these batteries can cause tremendous damage to soil and groundwater and pose a real threat to public health and safety.
By crushing/breaking the batteries, KC Recycling separates the components into lead, plastic and electrolytes (acid) using a variety of processes, including hydroseparation technology.
These materials are then cleaned and recast as recycled commodities.
- The lead and other precious metals including copper, silver and gold are recovered for reprocessing by our smelting partners.
- The electrolyte is neutralized and reclaimed for reuse.
- The plastic is formed into pellets that are reused in new batteries or repurposed for other industrial recycled products.
KC Recycling is able to provide cost-efficient solutions for the removal and sustainable disposal of lead acid batteries. If your organization is facing a surplus of these materials, contact us for a custom removal solution.
Regulatory Compliance: All of KC Recycling’s Lead Acid Battery recycling processes are consistent with state and provincial regulations, which provides our customers a secure, safe, and sustainable solution for the disposal of lead acid batteries.
KC Recycling processes polypropylene from lead-acid battery casings into polypropylene pellets for reuse.
Our recycled polypropylene pellets have a melt flow of approximately 11.0 dg/min and an average impact resistance of 2.20 ft-lb/in. The pellets come in black color and can be used for various applications including injection molding, blow molding and extrusion.
